PCE Specialist Frame and Façade Contractor for Fulton & Fifth

PCE Ltd are delighted to have been appointed by property developer Regal London as specialist design and build contractors using their offsite engineered Kit of Parts hyTower® System for the exciting new London urban renewal project at Wembley, called Fulton & Fifth

The mixed-use development includes for 846 residential units in five tower blocks ranging from 15 to 24 storeys tall that are constructed from a 2 and 3 storey podium structure which will house retail, leisure, recreational and light industrial spaces. This appointment follows on from two previous successful Regal London projects that PCE have worked on, Commercial Road aparthotel Whitechapel, and the Central and Cecil Housing Trust housing development in St. John’s Wood.

Fulton & Fifth has been designed for Regal London by Concept Architects JTP and Engineers Terrell with Quantity Surveyors GIA. Delivery Environmental Consultants are Whitecode Design Associates, with Delivery Architects Ryder Architecture and Engineers HDR Inc.

The hyTower® system is the client’s preferred approach to providing the structural frame, internal finished walls, bathroom, utility pods and building envelope for the project. The hyTower system uses PCE’s own developed state of the art connected digital twin approach throughout the design, manufacture, and assembly phases to deliver value, speed, and quality, as well as safe assembly procedures by the PCE in house multi-skilled site team.

PCE’s hyTower® System has a proven track record for inner city and conurbation construction projects, utilising the benefits gained with an offsite engineered and manufactured ‘kit of parts’ philosophy, and where possible multiple offsite engineered components being assembled pre-delivery to site. The ‘kit of parts’ solution gives significant environmental benefits at both the macro and micro scale with reductions in construction noise, number of people required on site for the assembly phase, lorry, and other vehicle deliveries, as well as reduced waste. These benefits will significantly lower the projects overall carbon footprint and also making the development less intrusive in its neighbourhood during the construction phase.

Simon Harold, PCE Business Development Director, has commented:

‘Fulton & Fifth is a fantastic project for PCE and we are delighted to be working once again with Regal London. The project will of course provide PCE with some challenges, as it would for any other specialist structural frame and envelope contractor, such as speed of delivery, logistical coordination, and Integration of the multiple DfMA aspects which includes integrated facades with windows, balconies, M&E, pods and utility cupboards, pre-loading out of plasterboard etc, etc. However the commitment and determination inherent in all PCE employees to overcome such challenges, and by use of the companies continuous development improvements including the digital control we now have for all the facets of any project, will provide Fulton & Fifth with a best in class successful outcome.’

Fulton & Fifth has already been shortlisted for the Mixed Use category of the prestigious New London Awards 2022, being held by New London Architecture with the winners being announced on 29th November 2022.
