Construction of 22 holding cells in 3 wings in 10 days

PCE’s fast delivery of Bedfordshire Police custody suite

Development of PCE’s HybriDfMA Secure Custody system build approach and the continuous drive for its improvement has once again proved hugely beneficial during the construction of the new custody suite facilities for Bedfordshire Police at Woburn Road, Bedford.

Working with Main Contractor Willmott Dixon, PCE had a 10 day on-site build programme to assemble and finish 22 holding cells in 3 wings along with the associated spaces within the charge area, all of which progressed efficiently meeting the high expectations required for Safety and Quality. The PCE HybriDfMA Secure Custody System brings together all the lessons learnt and best practice from over ten years of delivering custody cells and associated facilities in which time over 900 holding cells have been constructed. The systems ‘kit of parts’ provides the optimised approach to delivering projects at speed and to the highest quality whilst guaranteeing robustness and long-term durability giving true value to the end user client.

The Bedford project’s small, confined site provided no difficulties for PCE’s highly trained and multi-disciplinary specialist in-house construction team, who have once again shown true industry acclaimed professionalism and enthusiasm in carrying out the works, as to be expected from those working within an ambitious company owned by its employees.
