Lower Broughton update 4 – third phase carpark decks
Car parks are GO at Lower Broughton
Following the successful delivery of Phase 1 and Phase 2 apartment podium decks for Countryside Properties in Salford, Manchester during 2019, PCE Ltd are soon to start constructing the associated suspended carpark decks for each phase.
Each of the two single storey offsite engineered HybriDfMA car park decks is situated in between the apartment buildings, with access ramps servicing the 197 car parking spaces. The offsite manufacture of the 760 structural precast concrete units required for the two carpark decks will be coordinated to ensure production is completed within a total duration of 12 weeks - in line with the onsite erection programme.
The carpark decks structure consists of precast concrete columns, edge, spine and parapet edge beams, wall units and 300 mm deep prestressed concrete hollowcore floor units spanning over 13.0m in length. A 100mm thick reinforced structural concrete topping will be cast onto the floor units by PCE’s multi skilled workforce to give an overall 400mm deep car park deck unit. To allow for natural drainage without a build-up of additional finishes the decks are being laid to a fall by varying the structural column levels.
