Leeds University update 6 – PCE installs last prestressed flooring unit

768 pre-stressed precast concrete flooring units

PCE’s multi skilled site team have recently installed the final pre-stressed precast concrete flooring unit at level 4 of the HybriDfMA frame solution for the Sir William Henry Bragg Building at Leeds University where BAM Construction Ltd is the Main Contractor.

A total of 768 pre-stressed precast concrete flooring units have now all been safely delivered and incorporated into the structure being constructed on this logistically restricted site. The flooring units comprise just over 40% of the total of the offsite engineered precast concrete units used to construct the building and along with structural steel beams, Deltabeams and reinforced insitu concrete.  The structural solution adopted for the Sir William Henry Bragg Building is a wonderful example of PCE’s innovative HybriDfMA approach.
