Dakota Hotel update 2 - offsite produced brick faced precast concrete sandwich panels

Sandwich panels will help reduced carbon footprint

Sample brick faced sandwich panels are shown above, prior to clean down and window fitting at the precast factory. The client will be viewing the units for approval, when the remaining units will be completed for the Dakota Boutique hotel chain on Ducie Street, Manchester.

Using architectural brick faced precast concrete sandwich panels for the hotel façade - which are supplied to site with windows fitted at the precast factory - will speed up the final fit out of the hotel, saving follow on trades, reduced inner city deliveries and thus carbon footprint. Construction began in late November to install cores using PreFastCore and shear walls with podium slab and the superstructure commenced early in 2018.

Two current Manchester construction projects

The Dakota Hotel project is the second major development that PCE are currently working on in Manchester. The Dandara Chapel Wharf high rise apartments project is currently under construction where PCE are again providing a full design and build offsite Hybrid engineered solution. The overall project has been designed by Leeds based KPP Architects and International Consulting Engineers, the JPG Group.
