PCE take on the National Three Peaks Challenge!

On Friday the 30th of June 2023, a team consisting of 9 PCE employee partners are taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge to help raise money in support of local charities Changes Tamworth & Tamworth Wellbeing & Cancer Support Centre, who were selected as PCE’s 2023 charity partners by its employee partners.

 

The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in the UK within a 24-hour time limit. The team will start at Ben Nevis in Scotland before moving onto Scafell Pike in England, finishing with Snowdon in Wales, covering a total of 23 miles and ascending nearly 3,000m in what is considered one of Britain’s toughest outdoor challenges.

 

The team are all currently training to prepare for the challenge in several weeks’ time, with one practice climb already completed of Snowdon. The climb was completed in 4 hours and 20 minutes, giving a positive outlook on completing the challenge in the 24-hour time frame.

 

PCE are proud to support local charities Changes Tamworth and Tamworth Wellbeing & Cancer Support Centre. Changes Tamworth is an independent mental health charity providing a unique recovery and wellbeing service to those in mental distress. The Tamworth Wellbeing & Cancer Support Centre registered charity helping to support people affected by all cancers and other chronic illnesses.
