Double Delight: Sarah Blackwell Scoops Up Two Awards at Women's Awards 2023

PCE is delighted to announce that our Business Support Director, Sarah Blackwell, took home not only Outstanding Women in S.T.E.M at the Women’s Awards 2023, but also West Midlands Inspirational Female Leader 2023!

The award ceremony, held at the Heart of England Conference Centre, Coventry, on Friday 22 September, recognises and celebrates the outstanding achievements of women.

Having been nominated and subsequently shortlisted for the Outstanding Women in S.T.E.M category, Sarah was joint winner alongside Prof. Alison McMillian.

In addition to the main nominated categories, Sarah’s hard work, passion, and dedication to her work and the digital progression of PCE saw her recognised with the Inspiring Female Leader 2023 award. This award is not open for nominations and the winner is chosen by Women’s Award’s Founder, Sandra Pollock OBE, based on the Judging Panel recommendations. This is a fantastic achievement, and testament to Sarah’s continued contribution and commitment to PCE’s digital growth and development.

Having joined the company in 2018, Sarah has been integral to leading and driving PCE’s digital transformation. This includes the development of a revolutionary digital asset tracking system, plus the creation of automated reporting that significantly improves the efficiencies of operations at PCE.

Sarah had the following to say on her awards success:

“I am delighted to have won these awards.  Having been nominated for the Outstanding Woman in STEM 2023 award by Leanne Bonner-Cooke MBE, I was flattered but honestly had absolutely no expectation of winning it, so I was amazed when I was announced as joint winner, with Prof. Alison McMillan. Even more of a highlight for me was receiving the West Midlands Inspirational Female Leader 2023 award. I was totally blown away by receiving the award and feel very honoured! To be an inspirational leader you have to be inspired by an inspirational business, with inspirational people, which we definitely have at PCE. I consider myself very lucky to be able to do a job that I love and to work with PCE’s Business Support team, who are all totally amazing. As a team I think we inspire each other, so I want to thank them for making me want to get to of bed every morning to make PCE better, as I know they do too.“

Nickie Brown, Managing Director, said:

“We needed Sarah and her skills at PCE LTD to assist and influence the potential opportunity we had to become a more efficient construction business, whilst embracing technology to meet our digital vision for the company’s operations. Sarah’s effort, skill, behaviours, and determination has truly made a change at PCE and the construction industry as a whole, and I am very grateful for what Sarah has achieved to date. Sarah is a critical member of the team, offering guidance, direction, clarity, and innovation. Sarah and her team have made PCE become a construction company embracing data driven results, bringing elevated efficiency, compliance, assurance, and value in the DfMA (design for manufacture and assembly) construction world. Well done Sarah and thank you“

On behalf of everyone at PCE, well done and congratulations on these fantastic awards, Sarah!
