The Fallowfield Campus redevelopment will deliver 3,300 high-quality student homes across the former sites of Owens Park, Oak House and Woolton Hall, alongside new amenity spaces and extensive green infrastructure.
The scheme is being delivered by PCE using its Hybrid Living structural system — an integrated, offsite solution built around an optimised 2D kit-of-parts. The systemised approach enables greater speed, certainty and control across design, manufacture and assembly, supporting efficient programme delivery while maintaining consistently high quality standards.
Designed by Sheppard Robson, the development will create five distinct neighbourhoods, each inspired by Manchester’s cultural, sporting and musical heritage. The project is targeting Passivhaus certification and, once achieved, will become the largest certified Passivhaus development in Europe. It is also pursuing a BREEAM Excellent rating, with Modern Methods of Construction playing a central role in reducing waste, improving buildability and enhancing overall delivery performance.
By combining early engagement with a proven, repeatable structural system, PCE is supporting the delivery of a complex, large-scale student accommodation scheme that prioritises safety, sustainability and predictability at every stage.
