Plot N06 East Village will provide 524 new residential apartments across two high rise towers and two ten storey pavilions for client Get Living, the UK’s most experienced and progressive build-to-rent operator of large-scale residential neighbourhoods.
The structure and facades for the towers are being delivered in a partnership between PCE Ltd, Mace as the Main Contractor and Oranmore Precast utilising a revolutionary, DfMA High Rise Solutions (HRS) which delivers speed of construction, offsite-engineered quality and on-site safety.
Mace Tech is leading the N06 delivery with support from the Australian Construction Specialist Hickory Group to manage the deployment of the patented High Rise Solutions (HRS) within the UK.
PCE’s Multi-Skilled Site team has recently installed the final offsite manufactured precast concrete component to the HRS residential project based at the former Olympic Village in Stratford, East London. The team has constructed a total of 57 floors across the two towers being 31 and 26 storeys high, with only the roof level overruns and BMU support structure to be complete. Once the final roof components have been installed, 13 tonnes of steel reinforcement mats will then be rolled out and 90m³ of insitu concrete poured to complete the roof slab. The methodology for completing the structural topping to the roof follows the same underlying ethos of the project as a whole.
Through utilising predesigned roll-out mats manufactured offsite by Hy Ten, onsite labour and steel fixing time has been reduced by 90%. This approach to onsite efficiency, quality and safety through preplanning and offsite fabrication sits at the heart of PCE’s and Mace Tech's ambition to lead the industry in delivering hi-rise residential projects using Modern Methods of Construction and Offsite technology. Fit-out works are progressing well beneath the HRS assembly, with follow on trades completing weather dependant finishes three levels below the construction leading edge. The integrated façade system, M&E modules, bathrooms, and utility cupboards coupled with the proactivity of PCE’s Multi-Skilled Site Team stripping back-propping and completing finishing works is ensuring the fitting out of the towers can progress efficiently and effectively.
