Led by John Sisk and Sons for the Silvertown Partnership, which includes Lendlease Development, PCE Ltd has been appointed as the specialist design and build contractor for Silvertown Plot 6. This phase of the Silvertown project features a dynamic mixed-use development encompassing three six-storey blocks totalling 10,385m². These blocks will feature five storeys of affordable housing above commercial spaces with integrated parking. PCE will use a systemised kit of parts of over 2,300 pre-engineered components. Plot 6 marks the first phase of the extensive Silvertown regeneration. It aims to revitalise the Royal Docks into a dynamic 50-acre nexus of commerce, culture, and community.
To bring Plot 6 to life, PCE will deploy its innovative HybriDfMA Frame system, a systemised build solution for predetermined predictability. Key to the system is the ability to configure it, adapting to each projects unique requirements. This means PCE can combine proven optimisation that comes with a systemised approach, with bespoke architectural aspirations. For Silvertown Plot 6, our design team will configure PCE’s HybriDfMA Frame systemised build solution, tailored to realise Bryden Wood’s structural design, in accordance with Maccreanor Lavington’s architectural vision, resulting in structural optimisation and certainty of outcome. It ensures projects are delivered with speed, precision, and increased efficiency.
Each project is delivered through a predetermined ‘kit-of-parts’ of standardised and repeatable offsite manufactured PCE components, pre-engineered to align with each project’s unique requirements. Our 'Kit-of-Parts' approach allows for a flexible blend of materials, including precast concrete walls, steel columns, beams, stairs, landings, and hollow-core flooring, resulting in a hybrid structure that excels in both aesthetics and sustainability. This is achieved using proven common connection principles, which enables materials and components to be interchanged during design, reducing weight, resource, and embodied carbon. By pre-engineering structural elements for offsite manufacture, PCE significantly reduces project risks while enhancing quality and efficiency. This ensures the right materials is used for the right job, achieving structural optimisation whilst improving sustainability. It enables precision across both manufacture and assembly, whilst providing clarity and assurance of project programme and outcome.
Advanced digital tools are integral to our approach, minimising ambiguity and maximising control to ensure transparency and precision throughout structural delivery. Integration of Ynomia’s 3D digital twin technology with PCE’s Common Data Environment and digital field data capture tools provides automated real-time project visualisation, status, and insight from the design phase onwards. This enables efficient coordination across structural delivery and supports Golden Thread compliance throughout the structure's lifecycle.
