Bracknell update 6 – first ramp column goes in

Ramps installed onsite as project nears completion

The 1,300 space multi-storey car park in Bracknell has been designed and built by PCE Ltd: as the 40 week onsite programme draws to a close, the first columns for the ramp construction are being installed.

The Lexicon Bracknell is the new name for a major town centre redevelopment being undertaken in Bracknell town centre by the Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, a joint venture between Legal and General and Schroders along with Bracknell Forest Council.

GT long span flooring units

Over 24,000m2 of the PCE developed prestressed concrete GT long span flooring units have been used to minimise on site construction times, reduce the depth of structure, number of erection lifts, and the amount of follow on trades. No insitu structural topping was required and the units arrived to site on a just in time basis with a factory applied anti slip finish. The GT Slabs flooring solution from PCE minimises structural depth and does not require any onsite structural topping compared to other precast concrete systems: this results in a structural weight saving of approximately 3.5 tonnes per car parking space.
