HybriDfMA - smart integration and connectivity

PCE secures delivery partner role for prison redevelopment build at Glen Parva

Following the recent successful delivery of precast components for the new prison at Wellingborough project, PCE Ltd has been appointed by Lendlease as the superstructure and façade delivery partner for the Secure Accommodation and Entrance Building for the new prison at Glen Parva, Leicester.

Working in collaboration with main contractor Lendlease – who have been awarded a £286m contract by the Ministry of Justice as part of wider reforms to modernise the prison estate to make it more efficient, safer and focused on rehabilitation – PCE will deliver a precast concrete HybriDfMA solution for superstructure and façade, for the seven four-storey Houseblocks, the CASU (Care and Separation Unit) building and the Entry and Visits building utilising PCE’s secure custodial and hybriDfMA Frame systems.

The benefits of HybriDfMA

Smart integration and connectivity are at the heart of PCE’s HybriDfMA strategy, which will be key to guaranteeing speed, efficiency, quality, building performance and safety in construction, reducing follow on trades, deliveries to site, carbon footprint and the overall delivery programme. PCE was selected due to its proven track record held in the delivery of large-scale DfMA projects coupled with extensive experience and expertise in the custodial sector. With manufacturing already under way at multiple locations around the country, the £35m contract will see PCE and its offsite supply chain partners manufacture and assemble around 14,000 precast concrete and structural steel components in around 53 weeks.
