Leeds University update 4 – PCE's safety standards and processes knowledge is recognised

PCE working safely, effectively, as individuals, as a team and with others

A site audit has recently been carried out at the University of Leeds, The Sir William Henry Bragg Building, currently under construction, where PCE’s multi skilled workforce is progressing with the HybriDfMA structural frame system.

BAM Construction Directors from Germany and Holland recently carried out an audit of the construction site and were impressed with the excellent safety standards and knowledge of processes, including rescue procedures from MEWP’s as demonstrated by PCE’s Site Supervisor.

Senior Site Manager Daniel Walsh has commented to PCE:

"On behalf of BAM Construction we would like to thank you all, the auditors were very impressed with the site and with the workforce who they approached and questioned. Can we please strive to maintain these standards."

They were impressed with the following:

  • PPE was being worn by all operatives
  • Good knowledge of the rescue procedure from MEWP’s
  • The open collaboration between the workforce, other subcontractors and BAM Construction; it was clear to see there is a good team effort by all involved on site.

PCE's Site Supervisor has received an individual award from BAM Construction, the ICEPS Leeds Safety Award for April 2019 in recognition for demonstrating his safety knowledge, enthusiasm and overall proactive approach for Safety.
