Kingston University update 8 - collaborative approach delivers Health, Safety and environmental benefits

Willmott Dixon and PCE's determined commitment to site safety and community consideration

Recent inspections on the site of the new Kingston University London Town House project have demonstrated the benefits of the collaborative approach adopted by Willmott Dixon and PCE Ltd with regard to site Health and Safety and environmental considerations for the local community.

Recent inspections have produced particularly positive results. "In particular, the PCE team have pushed the standard and this much is evident in the reports we have received from internal and external parties" said Mr. Matthew Mint, Senior Building Manager, Willmott Dixon Construction Ltd., who went on to say:

"The collaborative approach to the project is a great positive and helps us all drive the industry and this project forwards."

A GSI (Group Safety Inspector) visit resulted in a "fantastic" outcome, according to Mr. Mint and it was matched by a score of 47/50 in the recent Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) inspection. The Kingston University Town House project "sits in the 2017 Top 10 in both the Health and Safety and Working Environment categories for Willmott Dixon across the country" added Mr. Mint.

PCE has been utilising their Slingsafe system on site (shown above), which is a patented safety system that provides efficient offloading and prevents site personnel from falls from the delivery vehicle. Designed and engineered wholly in the UK, SlingSafe features a unique dual boom and dual safety harness system to prevent slips and falls.
