Paradise update 14 - offsite engineered precast concrete modular units

Hybrid structural frame

Over 2,500 precast concrete and structural steel components manufactured offsite are being erected by PCE Ltd’s highly qualified on site team to form the Hybrid structure they are delivering on a design and build basis.

The lift and stair cores are being constructed with PCE’s Prefastcore system providing a safe, fast and dimensionally accurate solution for their construction, whilst precast concrete columns, beams, walls, prestressed hollowcore flooring and steel Deltabeam units are providing the structural Hybrid frame solution, with insitu concrete being used where necessary to facilitate structural connections. The upper level deck structure will provide the surrounding public realm areas around the buildings linking into the existing landscaping of Chamberlain Square and forming a link between the Square and Broad Street.

About PrefastCore

PreFastCore units are manufactured using a purpose designed complex fully adjustable moulds system to ensure maximum variation in core sizes that can be cast with emphasis on dimensional accuracy.

Quality Manufacture

All precast concrete components are manufactured under stringent quality control procedures for PCE. Temporary safety balustrading is provided to ensure safe use of the PreFastCore during main structural frame erection. The high quality concrete used enables internal wall finishes to be left as struck or directly painted.
