Blackpool Police HQ - project underway as precast units arrive on site

Precast concrete units turned through 90 degrees onsite

PCE Ltd are providing the custody suite for the new Police Headquarters for Lancashire Constabulary's West Division at Blackpool.

PCE Ltd were appointed by Main Contractor Willmott Dixon as a specialist contractor on a design and build basis to provide a single level custody suite building to the rear of the new Lancashire Constabulary West Division headquarters, being built by them on Clifton Road in Blackpool. Design work commenced in January 2017, with the casting of units starting ten weeks later and commencement of construction on site within sixteen weeks. The overall expected erection period on site - including finishing - is eight weeks. The maximum number of PCE employees on site at any time will be no greater than twelve.

A key feature of the erection process is the safe and careful turning of units from their delivery position, to that required for installation into the structure.
